I want to talk about suicide awareness and how it influenced this design. First thing I want you to notice are the 988 numbers on the right side, this is the suicide hotline you can call or text if you or someone you know is struggling. Be the one is a phrase Casey came up with and I instantly fell in love. To me, being the one means being willing to stand up and help end the stigma around mental health and suicide. It’s ok to not be ok, and it’s ok to talk about it! I guarantee people you know are secretly struggling, people you would never guess! It takes a big person to step up and go against society, and it’s needed at this time! I love the moon, the moon in my eyes symbolizes peace and wholeness. It says everything is going to be ok in your darkest moments… that everything will get better. Last the skeleton with the beams coming out. The beams are the countenance. It takes real courage to go against society and realize that others are just like you. Especially from a man’s perspective, sometimes we aren’t ok… sometimes we need help, that’s ok too. Overall the design is about speaking up and getting help before it is too late. There are many in your life who need you and would mourn your loss deeply. Get help before it’s too late and have the courage to stand up And be the CHANGE this world needs.
